Eating arrangements

Feel free to discuss and organise food purchase and preparation in this thread. Remember that as this is not a school camp, parents will be responsible for supplying all food for their children. In the past, banding together to organise group meals has worked well.

  1. Hi all,

I am happy to run a shared camp kitchen in the communal area. There could be 25+ of us in total so will need to manage the logistics a bit. Breakfast and lunch is easy enough. Dinner - depends on if we go out/takeaway. (We could book in advance the RSL or equivalent)

I will volunteer for the breakfast and lunch cooking as long are there a few helpers and I confess upfront I am not a MasterChef!! I am however a carnivore.

Action 1: any volunteers to assist me with breakfast and lunch?

Action 2: If you want to be part of shared breakfast and lunch reply to this post with:
    - how many of you
    - any dietary restrictions

From there, I can work out a menu and hence a rough cost.

Action 3: If you are interested in dinner out together (I assume Saturday night) then kindly let me know how many of you are coming so I can create a list and make a booking.

  2. Hi Ross,
Damien Meunier and I would love to be part of the shared kitchen, however we may struggle to get our share of the cooking done as we will be organising the kids. If this is a problem we are more than happy to find our own meals.

Also interested in the dinner out. May I suggest the Thursday night as Friday night is a busy one with the race and as the event finishes at midday on Saturday i'm hoping to be back in Melbourne for dinner.

Thanks for taking the initiative with this.

  3. Hi Craig,

That is fine. I'll count you and Damien in for breakfasts and lunch. Yes - Thursday makes more sense for dinner out. Originally, I had thought we competing over the weekend.

  6. Hi Ross, Tessa here, thanking you for taking the initiative to organise the eating! Consider Jeremy and I in please. If I have other duties at cooking time, hopefully Jeremy can contribute in the kitchen. Sounds terrific.

  7. Hi Ross,
When I suggested Thursday night I forgot that we have a practise session on the track till 8:30pm. My apologies for messing you round with that. Would you like me to call the golf club and change the booking to 9pm?

  10. On behalf of Mark Rudelic

    Ross,
Miles and I would love to come to dinner on Thursday but I think it is easier for us if we organise our own breakfasts and lunches.
Happy to help with setting up a communal area and other chores.

    Regards
